African Youth National Mental Health Conference – Melbourne

GLAPD invites you to attend a two day African Youth National Mental Health Conference in Melbourne. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness about mental health within African communities in Australia, particularly to youth, parents and community leaders from the Great Lakes of Africa. In addition to raising awareness, the conference will equip youth with prevention and coping strategies, inform them of local service providers, and provide a unique opportunity for youth to share with one another and build relationships.

The primary audience for this conference is African youth (aged 18-25 years) and community leaders from the Great Lakes living in Australia. Parents of youth have also been invited, if youth are not able to attend the conference on their own.

When:           Friday 18 October 2013 and Saturday 19 October 2013, 9:00am – 4:30pm.
Where:           Melbourne, VIC. Venue to be advised.
Cost:               Free
